Quick Start
Welcome to TokenDNS. This guide is written for anyone new to API keys, the command line and AI tools. Finish sign-up, sign-in, token creation and top-up in order, and you are ready to configure the tool you use most.
Step 1: Create an account
Open the TokenDNS sign-up page.
If this is your first time, just follow the on-screen prompts. With password sign-up you are usually taken straight into the console.
Step 2: Open the console
Sign in and open the console home page. Token management and top-ups both happen inside the console.
Step 3: Create an API token
Open the console API keys page and click create token.
A few fields are worth setting deliberately:
Name: something you will still recognise later, for examplecodex-laptop.Group: choose based on what the tool is for.Note: optional, it can be left empty.Quota limit: unlimited by default.
Once the token is created, copy the generated API key. It usually starts with sk-. The key is only shown in full once, at creation time, so save it right away.
Step 4: Top up your wallet
Open the wallet page, pick an amount and complete the payment.
If you are not sure how much to add, start small, confirm your tool is configured correctly, and top up again later. That is easier for beginners and keeps costs under control.
How pricing works
TokenDNS bills with per-group multipliers, so you can manage cost by model type.
The calculation is roughly:
official USD price × group multiplier ÷ 7 ≈ CNY price
What you can do next
After these four steps you have:
- a TokenDNS account you can sign in to
- a funded balance
- at least one API token
